Ryan Strieby, a standout at Mountlake Terrace High School for baseball, was inducted into the Kentucky Baseball Hall of Fame on September 23rd, 2023. Ryan Strieby graduated from Mountlake Terrace back in 2003. Ryan went on to Edmonds Community College for two years where he then signed on with the Kentucky Wildcats to continue his pursuit as a student-athlete. Long story short, Ryan dominated at the SEC level, having one of the most memorable seasons as Junior on a very talented Kentucky Wildcat team leading his team to the South Eastern Conference Championship (SEC). Ryan was then drafted in the 4th round of the MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers in 2006. Ryan played 10 years of affiliated baseball, 3 years of independent professional league, 6 years with the Detroit Tigers and 3 years with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ryan has cemented himself as one of the best athlete’s in Mountlake Terrace history, leaving a legacy others hope to follow someday.
