HSM (Hawkeye, TheHawkeye.org & Tempo) – Designated open public forums faithfully serving our audience of students, staff, parents and community members since 1960.
GETTING STARTED
Here you will find some basic information about the print/web journalism program at MTHS. However, once you're in the class, you'll be assigned to a proprietary system to ensure more efficient and secure communication among student staff members. Talk to Vince or any HSM leaders about the details on the intra-organization communications tools.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you you know that…
- You may be eligible to enroll in CHS Journalism through our program? Those who are in Advanced Journalism and Publication Management are eligible! Talk to Vince for more info.
- HSM staff members have attended more than 40 national conventions? Yep! These conventions are held twice each year all over the country.
- Dozens of former HSM staff members are currently (or previously) working in the communications industry. There are alumni working as reporters, editors, photographers, webmasters, designers, broadcasters, etc. It's amazing!
- HSM has one of the very few Journalist-in-Residence programs in the country.
- HSM works with the MyNeighborhood News Networks (MLTNews.com, for example) on several different projects – including internships.
