Today we’re going to create some original poetry, but we’re going to do it in a very unusual way. Instead of writing, we’re going to find text in magazines, newspapers, cereal boxes, manuals, etc.
That’s why it’s called found poetry. It’s poetry that you, the poet, find.
Some poets are inspired by the text they find,
others start with an idea in mind and search out text to support their outline. Either way, it’s all good. Here’s a quick Google Image search of some examples. No guarantee that these are all PG-13 as the selection changes from day to day, so you’ve been warned.
