Sticking to our theme of young female protagonists, here’s a film that combines wonderful performances from the two lead actresses with a compelling coming-of-age story. The great thing is that there are also other highly complex issues and conflicts introduced in this film including the fact that the central character and the director are both from India. So, we have a mixing of cultures, generations, religions, values, etc., and that always makes for interesting story-telling.
